Historical Brief
Nirali Nagri Sabha was established in 1984 and registered with the Registrar of Association as a baithka for the betterment of the village whereby the following activities were held:
- Free Hindi classes for primary level and secondary level.
- Free rental of equipment such as utensils, chairs and tables for the inhabitants of Petit Raffray, on occasions such as marriage, funeral and prayers.
- Gathering place for the inhabitants of Petit Raffray to organise religious ceremonies and other activities.
- Extra-curricular activities.
In year 2001, the Nirali Nagri Sabha constructed the Vishwanath Mandir to perform religious ceremonies. The Vishwanath Mandir is managed by a committee of 17 Executive Members and 15 members.
It should be noted that the Vishwanath Mandir is the first shivala in Mauritius to diffuse mantras on loud speakers daily from 6.00hrs to 6.05hrs in the morning and at the same time in the evening.
To accommodate the ever increasing number devotees, the members proposed to purchase a plot of land at the backyard of the shivala and to extend the existing shivala.
Acquisition of the land was made in 2014 and the new shivala was inaugurated in 2017.

Historical brief
Nirali Nagri Sabha was established in 1984 and registered with the Registrar of Association
under Registration Number 2092 in the same year as a baithka to work for the betterment of the village whereby the following activities are held:
It provides Free Hindi classes for primary level and secondary level.
It provides its materials free of charge such as utensils, chairs and tables for the
inhabitants of Petit Raffray in the occasion such as marriage, funeral and prayers.
It serves as a gathering place for the inhabitants of Petit Raffray to organise religious
ceremonies, meetings, classes and other activities.
However, the Nirali Nagri Sabha has existed for more than 40 years unofficially before its
affiliation to the Registrar of Associations.
To better serve its purpose, the Nirali Nagri Sabha constructed the Vishwanath Mandir in 2001 to perform religious ceremonies such as Doorga Pooja and Ram Nawmi which is going on now till now. It should be noted that the Vishwanath Mandir is the first shivala that have speakers that diffuse religious songs daily from 6 a.m to 6.05 a.m and at the same hour in the evening. The Vishwanath Mandir is managed by Nirali Nagri Sabha, consisting of 16 Executive Members and 30 Members.
