MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT

Message of President

It’s an immense pleasure for me to convey this few lines to the Sanatan family on this Year 2023.

For two years, the whole world faced with the most dangerous Pandemic such as Corona Virus Covid-19. In Mauritius, due to the Pandemic and confinement, our whole activities and Poojas in our Mandirs were greatly disturbed. Most of our Poojas and Kathas could not be performed. However, our Hindu devotees did their prayers at home and also our Acharyas / Purohits did the prayers where people can view live on Facebook. MSDTF and the Head Priest broadcasted their information through MBC TV, Radio, Facebook, Wattsapp and other social media.

The statistics revealed more than 37 Million Coronavirus cases and more than 1 Million deaths around the world. This is in fact one of the great tragedy that we all experienced.

Although there was Covid-19 Pandemic, the following targets were achieved throughout these two years:

  1. Presence of MSDTF through social media:
  • Creation of Website
  • Creation of Facebook page
  • Creation of different Wattsapp Groups such as affiliated members, Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, Delegates by regions, Purohits of Mauritius etc.
  1. Creation of Online Newsletter
  2. Donation of actual grants by President: Grants such as Car, Fuel, Mobile and other facilities which is estimated to be around Rs 420,000 per year allocated to President & Office are not taken but rather donated to MSDTF.
  3. For the first time in history of MSDTF, all the Purohits were given their due respect and for their help in enhancing Sanatan Dharma through an event namely Purohit Samaan Samaro (Certificate & Shield). They were decorated for their dedicated works.

  5. Regional Sanatan Samities were created in each zone.

Additional Food Packs were prepared and delivered in different regions in Mauritius where our affiliates informed and helped us to complete this noble act.
