ॐ About Goodlands Vishwanath Janata Mandir Society…Historically unique, in the North. It was the first hindu shivalaya where many of our ancestors met to discuss about well being of our hindu labour force, the śivālaya was founded in 1936 by a group of Hindus who came from Bhārata-varṣa to Mauritius and to whom Mauritius became their karma bhūmi and by Jugdambi family.
In 1961, the devālaya was later donated to Goodlands Vishwanath Janata Mandir Society.
The main devāta is Narmadeśvara jī, that is, Lord Śiva. Luxmee narayan, Ram parivar, Radha krishna,. Santoshi maa, saraswati maa, Durga Maa etc
«Its objective is to promote social, religious and educational activities.Preserve our cultural heritage.
Regular religious activities are organised as per our Indian and Mauritian Hindu calendar such as śiva abhiṣek is performed every Monday morning as from 5 a.m. From 12 to 1.30 p.m Ramayan path by our women’s wing. On friday every fortnightly repetition of kirtan bhajans by our youth wing.
Every month satya nārāyaṇa swāmī katha is performed.
Friday, kīrtanas and bhajhans are chanted. The śivālaya also offers Rāmāyana classes.«Our moto has always been dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ which means dharma protects those who uphold or protect dharma. As such the śivālaya always disseminates information, education, and communication to the Hindu community. The society has always been in the forefront to help our vulnerable Hindu families of our village (Goodlands) by donating foodstuffs and clothings.»
Preserving temple culture is an important aspect of Deva yajña. Deva yajña is one of the pañca mahā yajña, i.e, five sacred sacrifices«Our moto has always been dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ which means dharma protects those who uphold or protect dharma. As such the śivālaya always disseminates information, education, and communication to the Hindu community. The society is always been ready to face and been in the forefront to uplift our dharmafrom time immemorial, is today under threat from every direction. Attack on Hindu Dharma by traitors to Dharma and anti-Hindus alike, has become the order of the day. Many hindu organisation thus our mandir also are putting up a fight within the legal framework, for the cause of protecting the Nation and DharmaPrevent denigration of Deities and patriots that takes place through pictures, advertisements, plays, get-togethers, newspapers, different products etc. ! Refuse to buy products that denigrate Deities and patriots !To prevent Idol-breaking and thefts taking place in temples, educate trustees of temples and associated villagers Train our youth on self-defence develop the ability to defend yourself ! Educate Hindus on the anti-Hindu conspiracies such as attacks on religious processions of Hindu, cow-slaughter and ‘Love JihadLegally oppose anti-Dharmik acts such as making of laws like ‘Anti-blind faith Bill’, so also the Government policies such as declaring temples as illegal and demolishing them ! Oppose religious conversion of Hindus that is taking place either by luring them or by force ! Prevent malpractices such as forcible collection of funds, vulgar dancing, eve-teasing, gambling and consumption of alcohol in religious festivals and fairs !Common steps in the act of protecting DharmaSatyame jayate.
