MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT

Message of President

Dear Respected Members, Devotees and Well-Wishers,

With folded hands and a heart full of gratitude, I am honoured to present this message on behalf of the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation. The period from January to December 2025 has been one of intense activity, dedicated service and collective commitment towards the preservation, promotion and strengthening of Sanatan Dharma in Mauritius.

Our Federation, guided by unity, discipline and devotion, has successfully undertaken numerous spiritual, cultural, educational, environmental and social initiatives. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our Executive Committee, affiliated Mandirs and Kalimayes, volunteers, youth, women’s groups and all devoted supporters.

Highlights of Our Recent Activities

We began the year by facilitating international collaboration through the World Yogasana Sports Federation Courses for Trainers and Judges, held in Mauritius, thereby strengthening yogic discipline and professionalism.

Major religious observances such as Makar Sankranti, Indra Pooja and Harparawri for rain, and an extensive series of Maha Shivratri programmes were organised. These included selfless seva at Ganga Talao, awareness initiatives for safe and disciplined Kanwar Yatra, Rudra Maha Yaj, Shivoham Bhakti Sandhya, Chaar Pahar Ki Pooja, and sacred rituals conducted across multiple Mandirs. Together, these programmes reinforced spiritual values while ensuring safety, order and devotion.

Recognising the importance of structured participation and leadership development, we proudly established the Sanatan Yuva Aayog (Sanatan Youth Commission), followed by the creation of the Nari Shakti Aayog (Sanatan Women’s Commission), empowering youth and women to actively contribute to the growth and continuity of Sanatan Dharma.

Festivals and cultural observances such as Holika Dahan, Hanuman Jayanti Bhagwa Yatra at Ganga Talao, and Shravan rituals were conducted with great devotion and unity. Educational initiatives, including the resumption of the Gurukul Purohit Course, Gurukul Shiksha Course, and the Convocation Ceremony, have ensured the transmission of authentic Vedic knowledge to future generations.

Our Federation also placed strong emphasis on language, culture and arts, organising the Hindi Symposium “Hindi ke Badte Kadam”, comprehensive Hindi enhancement programmes in Baitkas and Mandirs, the book launch of “Ramayan Mauritius Ki Sanjeevni”, and various competitions in Ramayan recitation, dance, poetry, elocution, painting and video creation.

Pilgrimage and Spiritual Tourism Initiatives

A significant milestone of 2025 has been the successful organisation of multiple Chaar Dhaam Tirth Yatra programmes, conducted in different phases between June and October 2025, enabling devotees to undertake this sacred journey with proper guidance, discipline and spiritual focus.

In addition, the Federation organised South India Spiritual Tours in several phases during March, April and October–November 2025, offering devotees the opportunity to visit ancient temples and sacred sites, deepening their understanding and experience of Sanatan heritage beyond our shores.

Community, Youth and Environmental Engagement

Sports and youth engagement were promoted through the Foot-5 Tournament, while family values were reinforced via Family and Mother’s Day celebrations. Environmental responsibility remained a priority through World Earth Day celebrations, distribution of plastic dustbins to all affiliated Mandirs and Kalimayes, and spiritual ecology initiatives at Mare-Aux-Vacoas and Ganga Talao.

We also stood in solidarity beyond borders by participating in the Rastriya Shradhanjali Sabha in remembrance of the martyrs of Pahalgam, Kashmir, affirming our commitment to dharma, humanity and national consciousness.

The year culminated with sacred and organisational milestones such as Ganga Snan 2025, our Annual General Meeting, and the Annual Get Together, during which we expressed appreciation to our affiliated Mandirs and Kalimayes through the distribution of essential items, calendars, shields and financial support.

Looking Ahead

These achievements reflect our collective strength, shared responsibility and unwavering faith. As we move forward, let us continue to work together with humility, discipline and dedication to uphold the timeless values of Sanatan Dharma while serving society at large.

On behalf of the Mauritius Sanatan Dharma Temples Federation, I express my sincere gratitude to every individual and institution that contributed to this journey. May Bhagwan bless our Federation with continued wisdom, unity and prosperity.

Dhanyavaad.
Jai Sanatan Dharma.
